More about the survey
A team of researchers from the University of Wollongong, led by Professor Karen Charlton, Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health, and our partner UOW Pulse, seek your help to develop initiatives that boost students’ health and support UOW’s commitment towards sustainable objectives under the “2020-2025 Civic University Strategy”. The survey will only take about 8-10 minutes to complete.
We are conducting research that will assess Australian University students’ dietary patterns, impact of campus food environment on students’ eating habits, and to better understand the relationship between perceptions towards sustainable foods and actual dietary behaviours. In the survey, you will be asked about your:
- Food consumption on campus
- Awareness towards some campus initiatives and locations
- Eating habits (e.g. daily consumption of foods, snacks and takeaways)
- Food security status
- Thoughts about food sustainability
How the result will be used?
All information collected will be kept completely confidential and will only be used for research purpose. You will not be contacted unless you have completed the additional survey for a nutritional assessment that will be sent back to you. Please be noted that email address (provided for prize draw and/or receiving invitation for relevant future research studies) will not be linked with your responses to any questions.
What choice do you have?
Only those individuals that give their informed consent will be included in the project. Please note that due to the anonymous nature of this survey, you will not be able to withdraw your response after it has been submitted.
What are the benefits of participating?
Those who complete the survey will have provided valuable information to inform strategies to improve UOW’s food environment in the future. All participants will contribute to a donation pool to help people who are food insecure across the nation through Food Bank.
